Aint too proud to beg...

Dustin and I turned in the last of our foster care paperwork this past week.  All we have left to do (we think) yet is our home study, which should hopefully be completed in the next few weeks.  :)  We are planning on opening our home to children ages 4-10 (or possibly 12).

We have a TON to do before that time and an even TON-ER more to purchase!  Due to the draught this summer, our money tree has dried up so now I'm here begging for your consideration. This is where you come in....if any of you out there have, or know of someone who has, the following items and are no longer using them we would love to purchase them from you in preparation for our future fosters.

* Dresser for bedroom
* Car booster seats
* Children's clothes for kids ages 4-12
* Shoes for children
* PJ's
* Toys for kids ages 4-12
* Night stand
* Book bags/gym bags
* Books for children ages 4-12
* DVDs
* Diapers/Pull Ups
* Record player
* Twin/Queen sheet sets (they dont even have to match each other....beggars can't be choosers here.)
* Plastic undersheets for queen/twin beds
* Clock radios
* 2# ABC fire extinguisher
* First Aid kit with first aid booklet included
* Any other child item you have not in use in your household that you'd like to get rid of.

Please do not feel any obligation towards this. We just know we have a list of things to purchase and thought that if we could purchase some of them from friends who have them and no longer need them, then its a win-win for all!

Please also be in prayer for us during this transition, and also pray for the children who will be coming into our lives.  Those of you who know us know those children will need a LOT of prayer with us as their parents.  Hee, hee.  So far the process has went rather smootly (with the exception of the 6 month hiatus while we changed houses) and the social worker we have been assigned has been awesome.  I'm so thankful for her and for her willingness to answer our many questions.  We have no idea what to expect for the next few months but it seems kind of exciting, doesn't it?!

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts!

Please listen...

Please listen to the 9-22-11 episode of Mid-Morning Live on WBCL out of Fort Wayne, IN.  It's a very informative and emotional piece!  For those of you who know someone who is going thru infertility (and chances are, if you are reading this, you do!) this is a MUST LISTEN!

Go to http://www.wbcl.org/ and click on the Mid-Morning Live button.

Let me know what you think after you listen!  :)

Labor Day Lugs

Sunday evening we had a cookout at our house.  It was the first time we have entertained a large group at our new house and it was GLORIOUS!  We actually had room for everybody!  How awesome!

We had a huge amount of food (I did run out of tables for serving and had to use the deck of our boat for the "boat buffett" of desserts) and a fun time teaching my brother and his wife, Janna, how to play our favorite game:  DIRTY BOARD!  And, for once, I did not cheat.  :)  (I would like to point out that I did not win....Hmmmm....gonna have to get my sticky fingers warmed up for the next game.)

Monday, Labor Day, brought on the Labor Day lugs.  As in....we did NOTHING all day!  Watched TV, worked in the garage/barn, watched movies, ate, slept, napped, ate, watched movies, slept....NO-Thing!  It was awesome!  You don't get many days like that as an adult!

Now, back to reality!  :(
