Lemonade for a Cause

For weeks my girls have been begging to have a lemonade stand.  At first we resisted, for many reasons.  Too much effort on our part, too much time spent, and most importantly, we felt that the girls were wanting to do it out of greed.  Yet, the begging continued.

So, with continued thought, we decided to allow the lemonade stand with a few conditions.  Let me explain:

We received a fundraiser letter in the mail a couple weeks ago from some friends (relatives) of ours who are helping raise money for an adoption in a novel way.  They were petitioning to raise money for helping a widow out with house repairs....with the money going to friends (Micheal and Jane Reinhard) of theirs towards their adoption.  Everyone wins.  The widow gets help, the family gets money towards their adoption.  Such a great idea!  The letter/idea immediately brought goosebumps and tears.

So, we have agreed to host the lemonade stand based on:

* We will pay for all supplies but the girls are in charge of making the items
* The girls must split their proceeds:  half to them, half to the Reinhard's adoption
* Dustin and I will match the amount donated to the Reinhard's adoption
* The girls must man the lemonade stand and make change on their own

SO.....I'd like to invite you to join them next Friday (Aug. 3) from Noon-4 for Lemonade/Brownies/Soda to help support a good cause!  We hope to see you there!
